A quick introduction is in order…
My name is Chris Lister and I am a co-founder and chief marketing officer for Proceptive Dental. Since this is my first blog post for the “Proceptive Perspective”, I thought I would take a moment to share a little about myself as well as give you some insight into our new company.
So a little bit about me… I am 34 years old (soon to be 35), born and raised in Portland, OR. I am married to an amazing tall blonde RN from Minnesota who I happened to meet over 5 years ago in Las Vegas on Valentine’s Day (we are the exception to the rule of “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”). We have a very active social life, are surrounded by some great friends and family and truly enjoy all that Portland has to offer (especially the great Micro Breweries and excellent restaurants).
I have worked in the Internet Marketing and Search Optimization industry now for close to 5 ½ years. I continue to be amazed by how much this industry has changed in that time; it definitely ensures that things are never stagnant or boring. You never know when Google might decide to change their algorithm and send everyone into a frenzy to adapt to it. It doesn’t seem like that long ago when links really played no real role in gaining rankings, now they are one of the most important factors.
Previous to my work in Internet Marketing, I spent close to 6 years in the Los Angeles area working in Sales & Marketing for a workers compensation review organization and then a fiber optic cabling company. While my foray to Southern California was excellent for my tan, I realized I truly am an Oregonian and am happy to be back living in Portland (even despite all the rain).
Regardless of what industry I work in, the one thing that I have always enjoyed is the time I get to spend working with clients. Since most of us spend the majority of our waking hours at work, I believe that professional relationships can be just as valuable and rewarding as personal ones. Taking an interest in the lives of my clients by finding out what makes them tick, why they do what they do, how they got into their current profession or what they do when they are not at work help to keep the “day to day” routine interesting. Business will always be business, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take some time for fun and to add a personal touch to what we do.
I am very excited with the prospects for Proceptive Dental as I truly believe we are offering a necessary service to an industry that desperately needs it. I recently read a survey which stated that 35% of dentists that have a website either didn’t generate any new patients through their website or were not aware if they did. This means that over 1/3 of dentists with websites are not utilizing them as the powerful marketing tool they can be! It is my goal to see that percentage go down.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our blog. Please do not ever hesitate to contact us, comment on an entry, or share a personal story or antidote with us. I would love to hear from you.
